Welcome

Linda W Clark,

FINEART

Hello! I’m Linda. Thank you for visiting my website!!  I enjoy creating art in my home studio space in Victoria, Virginia, where I reside with my husband of 47 years. I am a self-taught artist, who grew up in the rural area of Southside Virginia. I earned an Associate Arts and Sciences degree in general studies from Southside Virginia Community College, before continuing my studies at Longwood University in Education and History.

My passion to create began early in life and was inspired from time spent on my grandparent’s farm and from my creative grandmother, Mac, who taught and shared her many talents with me. I studied art in high school and first fell in love with the process of oils in 2010. I was inspired  by Eldridge Bagley’s paintings because of the history he shares. My desire grew to continue to learn and grow, enjoying the process of learning online with many other artists and by attending workshops both online and in person with Artist, Roisin O’farrell.  Having an interest in history and a family dating back over 200 years from this area, I have a desire to capture not only my childhood memories but the farming lifestyle  and the details once lived by her ancestors.  I am inspired by God’s beautiful nature and often focus on it with florals, landscapes and still life paintings.

My goal is to paint memorable moments in vibrant and textured oils while trying to master the light and shading in a representational style to be enjoy for many years to come.

I have  exhibited solo and in group shows with many of my works being held in private collections in a variety of states.

Artist Statement

I am a vibrant and textured oil painter who has a passion to create art that will bring back special memories from earlier times.

Painting brings me joy and relaxation!! During my 10-yearart journey I’ve really grown to appreciate the learning process. I love watching and learning from another artist. For me each piece is a challenge, and it is interesting to see how it will develop. Having a passion for history, it is my desire to preserve history in my paintings. I love the deep thoughts and memories my art provokes. It is my hopes that I can spark a memory or two for my viewers as well.
